Emmaus Hampshire

Our Home

The Emmaus Hampshire Community has room for up to 23 Companions at any one time and hopes to help up to 50 homeless people per year. There is no pressure for Companions to move on until they feel that they are ready.

Each Companion is given their own en-suite room in the Community, as well as a small allowance and all living expenses are paid for. In return, Companions agree to undertake certain responsibilities within the Community – from cooking and cleaning to working in the Community Shop, on the delivery van or in the warehouse sorting donations.

Community Leader, Peter Wishart and Support Worker, Sean Hewitt, live on site and play an important role in ensuring that Companions have access to the support, personal development and training they need to make real and lasting changes in their lives.

The Community offers a mutually supportive environment, where individual needs are recognised and help is offered to prepare for return to a life outside. It also provides Companions with the opportunity to take part in a range of social activities and to make new friends.
